Technically my first contact with anime would be My Neighbor Totoro.

Not super huge into Anime but once in a while I'll pick one up.

First one was like Silver Pokemon but I saw it as a cartoon so that doesn't count
First real anime was Castle In the Sky. I am a huge fan of Studio Ghibli.
Second was probably cyborg 007 or CowBoy Bepop on Adult Swim

I think I'll take the high road and say that Sailor Moon was one of the most pathetic, laughable, intolerable "animes" that I ever wasted my time on.

There's no need to be snippy, but the implication of such an effeminately-targeted anime was obvious.

My first by actual age would be 'My Neighbor Totoro'. Also, Pokemon later on with Gundam and Dragonball.

Then there was Tenchi Muyo, on Toonami. I never really saw any as anime until I learned what the difference was.
