I typically use emotes and 'txt' speak in the /advert command, as an IC method of showing how Zhenya would talk over the PDA. It's my opinion that it combines both humor and something that is extremely likely for the character to do. I made an advertisement under that guise.

Nitro noclipped in, threw some form of grenade into the bar when I was roleplaying, and kicked me for insisting that the method in which the advertisement was used is IC. His methods were very, very immature, and considering the effort I went to to be respectful about the matter, to be kicked is unacceptable. I believe it has been stated that kicking someone for politely expressing disagreement falls under the category of admin abuse (I cannot find the thread, but it was filed by someone in FORP.)

Basically, the primary reason that I am upset with this is because it is a common occurrence in HGN. An admin with some testosterone to burn drops into roleplay without the faintest idea or concept as to what is occurring, disrupts it entirely, and refuses to admit the possibility that they may be wrong. On Fallout, it is an admin noclipping over and physgunning two people out of a building to spawn a playerbased group's base; on Half-Life, it can be a MPF commander informing a recruit about everything they are doing wrong in LOOC.

It is very, very irritating, and disruptive, and to be honest, this incident prompted an abuse report because of prior experiences. Nitro's response was not only uncaring but offered no real explanation, and he was generally abusive in both speech and demeanor.

To me, that is kind of a dumb kick, for two reasons. One, Nitro threw a grenade in the bar and that is retarded, and two, since the advert and pms are basically IC and the PDA is like a phone, of course someone is bound to do

First of all it's not our job to tell Nitro about this, if Pink is right he could have seen this coming in the first place. Second of all, I have barely seen Nitro posting on the forums anyways.

Did you ignore her reasoning? She says that it's a message, it's 2015 (?) ICLy, enough people nowadays use emotes in messages so I don't see why you wouldn't in the stalker world.

That rule applys to people who are speaking, because you cant say "

Like i said it Sets a bad example to new players, And the reason for her boot was arguing with me in global OOC, Why do pepole not realise that if you argue in global ooc you will get kicked! If you have a problem take it to PM SF OR FORUM PM do not start an argument in the server it just interferse with others RP.

Doesn't explain the grenade, and it's your job to punish those who use emotes incorrectly not those who use it correctly.

If someone is somehow influenced badly by her use of emotes it's not her fault but the fault of the rule breaker.

I agree with Pink on this matter.

1) Grenade disrupted RP quite a bit, and it would have been better to get her attention through other ways
2)I can see why Emotes in a PDA message, are not bad, its like SMSing or Texting, or chatting, you are typing on a keyboard. (Unless it is specified that you are using an audio message)
3) Tell her to take it up in SF or PM, but kicking with no sort of indication that SF or PM would be the way to go to talk about problems, is not the way to go.

In short I can see why Pink is upset and I can see why both of you could be wrong, I can see why Commi would get on you, but the manner in which he did so was not the greatest way at all, However I can see how one could use Emotes in a PDA message, as, its a PDA message. . .

Not to cause any issue, but Pink, I think you should refrain from using emotes and 'web talk'.

SRP takes place in the Zone, not a highschool. No one would be able to take you serious if you advertised like that in the Zone or real life.

Basically, talking like that does not fit SRP. Life in the Zone is a gloomy one, not a highschool like place.
