Jake Powergaming

I can't believe it's come to this. And I really don't want to be the one bitching about it--because it seems like that's all I've been good at so far. Bitching about when things go wrong. Yet, at the same time, I am at my wit's end, and I don't want to see FORP die off because of one bloody person who's let his power go to his head.

It seems like a curse, almost. Jake was a great admin before he became an SV. Now that he is, he seems to believe that he can do absolutely anything he wants, including powergaming and lolraiding everyone he feels like.

To think I once believed Blake was bad? Blake is nothing by comparison to this! These days, I look back, and wonder why I ever even complained about Blake in the first place. In fact I wish Blake was back controlling things again as an SV, because even when he was a raider running around in power armor, eventually he was humbled after ICly being overpowered, and we all lived happily ever after. Yet, today, I will happily put my trial-admin position and any future as an admin for HGN on the line for what I am about to tell you. Jake's powergaming is single-handedly killing the server.

Oh where do I begin? Let's see.

- Tesla armor is apparently totally indestructible. It deflects lazorz* and is bulletproof. (Except plasma weapons, which we're not allowed to have hurr hurr.)
-- *Point above was (only) recently modified. Apparently now because enough people bitched (or I was just loud enough) it takes four laser shots to get through Tesla armor's shieldling instead. Although, kind of USELESS considering a Plasma weapon to him is a one-hit-kill weapon... and he carries plasma weapons.
- Normal Enclave power armor is bulletproof too. Herp derp.
- The Enclave (and by 'Enclave' I mean just Jake and one other person who's actually a friend) go around lolraiding everyone, especially the traders, just for the pure f**king meanness of it. I doubt Khorn is pleased about this since traders are supposed to help the community, and instead he's making them quit. Not to mention other people he's PKed or forced to ragequit. He PKed someone just today in fact if I recall correct. Maybe it was last night? It was bloody recent anyway.
- He asspulls weapons and even fully armed IC mercenaries which one friend of mine (who's name has been withheld upon request--Exile knows who I speak of) a screenshot of in this case. Then Jake molotov'd the shit out of the town in GM_Atomic.
- I've argued with him over his powergaming in the forums in the past, and yet he tries to defend his position. He (and even Paintcheck who is former Enclave) claim that sure, the Enclave in older Fallout games -did- steamroll the Wasteland, but then, for the sake of roleplay, why bother? Tell me then, why do ANY of us even bother? That's why people are leaving the FORP server in droves. Because of crap like this. Which leads into my next point;
- People refuse to log in when Jake is playing. Maybe some of you have noticed a pattern that I have recently. When I had myself accidentally banned, the server went dead. I finally learned why. Because all Jake does is Enclave assrape everyone. Maybe I give myself too much credit though? I doubt they're logging in just because I'm on. Though I do know why they're not logging in.


I can't believe I'm saying this, but I want Blake back. Yes, the same Blake I used to bitch about being a raider in power armor. Even he didn't think he was indestructible though. Enough people rose up against his character Jon one day and put him in his place. After that, he became humble, and I respected that.

Meanwhile, the broken economy is fixed from what I can see. Provided it's not buzzing about and thriving, but it shouldn't. I mean, this is post-apocalyptia. It shouldn't thrive. But for the sake of the server, it is exactly how we want it! Roleplay meanwhile is on the rise. People (at least for a little while) have begun logging in again! This makes me happy! As one person noted the day before I accidentally banned myself a while ago, "Oh my god, more people in Fallout than Stalker!" I want to see this trend continue--and Jake is murdering it.

Jake seems to think that this server belongs to him and he can do whatever the hell he wants. He can't. Obviously it's not my server either, but if he didn't respect my opinions before, he should at least pay a little mind to them now that I am a TA. And if not, what about the older admins? How about Khorn? Blake perhaps (regained SV I understand)? What about Exile himself? So far Jake just seems to do whatever the hell he wants regardless of what we think. That includes Exile, that includes other admins, that includes me, and that includes the entire playerbase. Is this a democracy? Perhaps not--but Jake isn't the one in supreme charge here.

Like I said, this desperately needs to end. The powergaming needs to stop, and the Enclave aren't lolraiders, and they are, for the 10,000th time, not bullet proof. Yet, Jake won't listen to anyone else--because he clearly feels like he doesn't have to.

Oh, and before Jake uses the excuse, "Oh Kira lost her guns so he's butthurt about it." No, it's a LOT more than that. I watched him rob other people. I heard about how he permakilled a character named Alice or something. (I understand the story is she suicided, but the Enclave was going to torture and murder her anyway. Why the hell wouldn't you kill yourself? So he PK's her.) I even watched him rob Garret, this time ICly, and OOCly I do not like Garret very much at all. >_> Yet, it still pissed me off.




To prove a point, I'll put my new administrative rights on the line to see this through and hopefully as a means of proving to you that I'm not just bullshitting you people because I don't like Jake for whatever reason. I didn't like Blake for a long time either--but frankly I think I'm the only one he bothered ICly. >_>; In hindsight, I wish I hadn't even wasted my time complaining about it, because in the end, he turned out pretty good.

In conclusion, please help us. Seriously. Jake is ruining everything, and there's nothing anyone else can do to stop it. I'll even petition the playerbase if it means proving that none of us are happy about this. If nothing else, if the Enclave are going to persist on being lolraiders with indestructible power armor, then answer me this question; Why the FUCK is the Enclave wasting so much time, resources, and manpower, to act like glorified raiders? Something tells me the Enclave has MUCH better things to do than kick around a bunch of pathetic wastelanders. Even if you defy my opinion that the Enclave are in fact indestructible, no matter how bad it is for us roleplayers, no matter how bad it is damaging the playerbase, then please at least explain to me why they find it necessary to waste so much time here without BoS or anyone else worth their efforts? If you can tell me that much, maybe I'll shut up about it if it at least makes sense.

It was suggested to me that I post this formal complaint here. So yea. Here it is. It seems like complaining is the only thing I'm good at. >_>; But oh well. I just want the server to make a comeback. It made a little one, then fell apart again.

With the history of what has happened to SV's so far in Fallout RP, the way they get the power then go nuts with it... let's just hope if the day comes I rank up to an SA or even SV, if that day ever does come, I never follow a similar path.

The last time I took someone's laser rifle was a month ago at least and I haven't planned on doing that ever again. The PM was given to me by Silver, he told me to solve it. I saw this as the opportunity to solve this.

I want to make it clear that I cannot add admins thus why it looks like I am the only one controlling it, because I make most of the decisions myself.

THAT is why the server is dying. Because you are all trying to build up your own little factions and fiefdoms and don't fucking communicate. That is why the admin forums and SF exist. TALK IT OUT by posting this Spades you just look like a massive tool and you escalate the drama way worse than it already was.

Spades, you honestly take things too seriously, in my opinion. The Enclave are supposed to be powerful, that is why they have that kind of armor/weapons. Just deal with it, and if complain over something that matters, like RDM, cybering, and all that crap. That is what I have to say Spades.

No one is picking sides for any kind of e-war. People are turning this into an e-war which it isnt. Spades decided it himself to start shit up by calling Jake's retort playing politics. I just think that Spades is overreacting to everything and his arguement on why Jake is a bad admin was bad. I don't think Jake is the best admin on earth. HE has done mistakes and hell he has done one thing that Spades said, which was control the server however, that was long ago and it is over and done with now and that kind of case wasn't even to  big. Jake has gotten somewhat better. Not the best like some admins on SRP.
The reason why I posted I support Jake's Side is because in this kind of situation, Spades needs approval or dissaproval on his case. If it makes you sleep at night, I can change mine to basically just say -support.

Exile told me to post all admin complaints here. Jake posted it on the main forums. Instead of a sensible debate, now this carnage has broken out. I knew what was coming when I was told to post this. I knew it was a bad fucking idea because this would happen.

I didn't want to post this crap at all. I think Jake's only attempt to talk to me in private with me was a steam message I got while I was AFK followed about something on the forums. I'm guessing he thought I was ignoring him though that wasn't the case at all. I was expecting a private message--and instead I find it posted publicly in the forums. Then this happened.

This is a game of politics now and no body, including myself, is thinking entirely straight.

The damage is already done, though there is little that can even be done at this point about it except preventing more damage. I can plainly see you guys don't give a shit about what happens to me, but if this is the sort of reaction I'm going to get, that isn't helping either.

Though you are correct. In the post sent directly to Exile (which should have stayed in private in the first place) I was overreacting. This version as listed above was edited to remove a fair extent of that overreacting and get to the real issues at hand.

Yet I don't think anyone's yet seen it.

This is just pathetic, both of you now. First Spades for completly bursting into rage harder than a barbarian Orc and finishing that up by talking to Silver behind Jakes back, then Jake for posting it on the forums for all to see. You are both acting very immature recently and it is just stupid and pathetic, grow up.

Now, I will only speak on one topic since the others are new and I couldn't care about right now. What I am to talk about is the Enclave.

Alright, lets start with the armour. Power armour was first created during the Great War in order to allow one trooper to carry heavy weaponry and manage to survive multiple bullets. Not lasers, correct. But then after the war the Enclave continue research upon the power armour. Soon comes Advanced Power Armour, even stronger than the original and would be able to withstand lasers for some time. Now, the Enclave didn't think this was good enough so they decided that they were to try to make something to fend off the lasers. Soon before the explosion of the Oil Rig, Tesla Power Armour was created! Wow! Armour that was DESIGNED to fend off lasers. Jake stating that they are able to take bullets and lasers isn't bullshit, it's how it should be.

Onto the "lolraider" issue. We do not lolraid. Every time I have been called onto my Enclave character we have actually done something. First it was getting information from the bunker, which two stupid Wasters decided to come investigate and get killed because of it. Then we went on a regular patrol of the wasteland, chased a waster, GET SHOT BY A SUDDEN SNIPER ON THE TOWER, rid of the sniper then chase the girl to the town. Oh, and then we were amazingly abushed. Two perfectly timed and done ambushes against the Enclave troopers that had no idea where they were even going to go, nevermind a massive amount of ambushers.

Also, you mentioned multiple times that that whoever was the only Enclave lackey, that'd be wrong. There is also me and Steven.

Seriously, all of you grow up, learn to get along and continue with your lives.

You all forget, this is a videogame, their is a reset button if it really is needed. Honestly, everyone powergames at some point, even a little bit.

And attempting to take control of the server and fix all the issues can take a toll on Jake, maybe. If you are worried someone is power gaming, or becoming to powerful, make a discussion in the Global Admin room, and hopefully, HGN's admins can get together and solve the dilemma.
