You can always try the megaman mod I cant remember where the link to it is but the blaster did an unholy ammount of dammage.

Last time I used RTS, it worked just fine, except for a few issues. Building up a small village is enjoyable.
Though I'm not sure what version it was. Quite awhile ago.

Also, I have a Classic Weapons Beta used. Brings older guns from Fallout 1 & 2. Most likely it was updated in the time since I used it.

Enclave Commander is fun to use too.

Cross Weapons/Armor Repairs is useful.

Alternate Start is good so you don't need to be a lone wanderer every game.

Armor Disguises helps for going into dangerous territory.
