Ska Music
« on: 09-08-2011 »
"Ska is a music genre that originated in Jamaica in the late 1950s, and was the precursor to rocksteady and reggae. Ska combined elements of Caribbean mento and calypso with American jazz and rhythm and blues. It is characterized by a walking bass line accented with rhythms on the upbeat."
"Ska punk is a fusion music genre that combines ska and punk rock."
My favorite band is Streetlight Manifesto. There are other bands (Reel Big Fish, Catch 22) that are good too. Some of these songs (Keasby Nights from Streetlight) are covers of Catch 22 songs.

Major Danby replied indulgently with a superior smile: "But, Yossarian, suppose everyone felt that way."
Then," said Yossarian, "I'd certainly be a damned fool to feel any other way, wouldn't I?"

You do realize that catch 22 is just streetlight manifesto's previous name in their early years, only came out with 1 album under that name.

I am more of a reggae and dancehall, as well as rocksteady listener when it comes to jamacian based music and a lot of the caribeean stuff. I do somewhat enjoy Ska though thanks for putting this up was kind of looking for a Ska band.

I just recently started listening to it. The first song "Walking Away" is probably my favorite song ever.

It's annoying when trying to browse the forums and listen to music at the same time.

This song fits with plunger's interpetration of Snazzy Gaming apology.
