Fowarding ports

I'm looking to be hosting some servers, for some friends. Nothing too serious.
But this whole port thing confuses me

Can some clever guy SF me about fowarding my ports

Make sure you can check your router's page. You have the log in and password right?

If it was never set the default username and password should be admin

Usually the default name is admin and the default password is either admin or password.

For me it the password was just blank.
