HDD Not detected

I was hoping to get on SRP today since my new CPU and it's heatsink have arrived. I have 2 new SATA cables for my DVD-ROM and HDD incase the cables were faulty. These new cables have clips so they cannot slide out like they used to.

Everything looked promising when I turned on the PC, POST test showed and then the BIOS, but then it asked for the system CD to be inserted into the DVD drive which is set as the secondary boot device.
I entered BIOS and there was no HDD shown. It was not being detected. I had replaced it's old SATA cable with a new one, switched it's socket on the motherboard and switched it's power cable for another; and it still isn't being detected.

I've looked on several PC Help forums and the only real fault suggested is a faulty connection, which cannot be possible since I replaced the SATA cable and changed it's power cable.

Any help or suggestions would be very highly appreciated.

Make sure it's connected up properly, and that your motherboard supports SATA. If thats not the case them the HDD might be screwed...

Yes ofcourse it supports SATA.

Alright you need to change your RAID settings, I had the same problem. Add me on steam Bodyguard and I'll walk you through it.

HDD needs to be detected before I can edit it's RAID settings.

Did you actually install Windows already, or are you trying to use the Windows install that's already on the HDD (I'm assuming you're using your old HD)?

Usually when you replace a whole motherboard you need to reformat and cannot just use the same Windows install.

Using my dad's computer now, different HDD.
Yes windows is installed on that HDD, and the only components replaced are the CPU and heatsink, not the motherboard.
