Pretty sure this was unintentional, but anomalies can destroy the artifacts.

Anomalies destroy items, artifacts are items. Therefore, anomalies destroy artifacts.

I'm going to assume the rarity of artifacts is due to this. Other than that all I can guess is that now admins will have to manually place them.

Anomalies will destroy all props, weapons, entities, etc. Except for certain world props.
