GSC Game World announces S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 – the official sequel to best-selling game series – in development now. A completely new multi-platform technology developed by GSC will make the core of the game.

"After the official sales of the series exceeded 4 million copies worldwide, we had no doubts left to start creating a new big game in the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. universe. This will be the next chapter of the mega-popular game players expect from us" - said Sergiy Grygorovych, CEO of GSC Game World.

The game is scheduled for release in 2012.

Not much on it currently, but i found this, dated back to the 13th, some of you may already know.

multi-platform technology

They better do it first on PC and then port it over to consoles.
Those who survived were shocked, disillusioned and embittered by their war experiences, and saw that their real enemies were not the Germans, but the old men at home who had lied to them.

Usually stuff comes out on the consoles first and is then ported over, that's where most of the cock ups happen.
PC First, Consoles later.

Anyway, I hope this doesn't become an overused franchise. I want something new, Call of Pripyat was good because Clear Sky felt like the first game but with pretty graphics.

The game is utilizing the Cryengine 3, and I've heard it's going to be multiplatform. -______-
You'd think by 2012 they'd have the next generation of consoles? Nonetheless, they better focus on the PC version and do that right, and THEN (NOT the other way around) make a port to the consoles to rake in the cash. I still don't see how STALKER would work on consoles, especially the current ones with Cryengine tech.

Hm when they first announced it, this was the first thing I heard. I don't think
GSC Game World officially said that STALKER 2 will be using it, but rather, they have acquired the rights to use the tech. Now, I can't even find any mention of it, weird.

From Wikipedia:
"Sergey Grygorovich, CEO of GSC Game World, specified that the video game will feature a completely new multi-platform engine, written by GSC itself."
Okay, I guess this was just a rumor I heard. Q______Q
