Like I said before I agree weed should be legalized but at the same time just because you've never had "The gateway drug affect" happen to you doesn't mean it doesn't happen at all so that is a very real concern. You cannot just dismiss it because it has never happened to you.

Your right but if it's legal it would be harder to get illegal connections.
So it is an issue but wouldn't be as bad hopefully. I have seen a few people do other drugs but I'm not sure if it was because of them smoking weed.

I've smoked weed for two years, all it does it makes you do is talk and be more social your always happy and you get the munchies.

For sure it is not entirely do to smoking weed that people try harder drugs but it certainly helps. That's another point in favor of legalizing it.

And I won't try to convince you otherwise. Some people love it some people dont care some people hate it.
I wanted to do it at a young age, I was around it all the time because I grew up in a bad neighborhood. Now it's all around me but I'm in a good neighborhood (well its turning bad) and it seems like most of the people I know smoke weed.

Wow chaos, what are you talking about alcohol ruins more lives than cocaine. I HIGHLY doubt that. Yes I realize alcohol and tobacco IS definitely bad for you. And from a medicinal standpoint marijuana is not as bad, in health effects, as cigarettes are. However, if marijuana was legalized imagine the social issues and the fact that it IS a gateway drug. People's lives are ruined because of it, due to the fact they do worse and worse drugs. How good do you think someones judgment is when they are high? To legalize that? I don't think so.

Alcohol does ruin more lives but I think it's only because more people use it. Also I have way better judgment on weed than on alcohol. You can still drive on weed.

Well I'll admit there are SOME responsible marijuana users, I mean Carl Sagan used weed. :V But everyone at my school who uses it, get into other drugs and they all are failing courses and are having problems with the law.

My friends brother does weed, and he gets straight A's. Fact of the matter is is that everyone's situation and train of thought is different. To put it in cliche, we are all snowflakes.

I have a friend who smokes a shit ton and also gets straight As. I dabble in it a bit (like once or twice a month with said friend) and I have a GPA in the mid 4s. Weed doesn't make people stupid or smart. Typically the dumber ones are the ones who use it regularly but that isn't a function of the drug itself.
